Engagement review

13 November 2014

Brent Clinical Commissioning Group is committed to improving how we involve local people in shaping their NHS. We have commissioned an independent review of our current engagement systems and the findings will be reported to the CCGs Governing Body meeting on 26 November 2014.

Dr Ethie Kong, Chair of Brent CCG, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing the final recommendations of the review and discussing how best to improve our public engagement.

Improved service for diabetic patients launches in Brent

An improved diabetes service has launched in Brent which will see specialist diabetes care delivered in the community and closer to the homes of patients.

Brent Integrated Diabetes Service (BIDS) will continue to focus on Type 2 diabetes patients in primary care and community settings, and will include greater support to the GP practices in the borough.

The service will also offer more intensive support for patients to self-manage their condition through the DESMOND (diabetes education and self-management for ongoing and newly diagnosed) programme and a greater emphasis on weight management and diet.
