Primary Care Commissioning

From 1 April 2017, under delegated authority from NHS England, the CCG took on responsibility for the commissioning and management of primary care medical services. To enable the CCG to fulfill these responsibilities appropriately, the Governing Body established a Primary Care Commissioning Committee with a non-conflicted voting membership.

The Committee’s purpose is to ensure that appropriate primary care services are commissioned to serve the needs of residents and, in so doing, improve the efficiency, effectiveness, economy and quality of services, reduce inequalities and promote the involvement of patients and the public alike in the development of services.

Patients, members of the public and other stakeholders are invited to attend the Primary Care Commissioning Committee.

This meeting is held in public, it is not a public meeting. Members of the public may submit questions regarding any agenda items to the Primary Care Commissioning Committee 48 hours before the meeting.
