From midnight of 31 October onwards, the opening hours of the Urgent Treatment Centre will be 8am to 12 midnight, seven days a week. The service will be closed overnight between the hours of 12 midnight and 8am.
Any patients arriving after midnight will have access to a freephone to call NHS 111 for advice or signposting to other services.
Why are opening hours being changed?
On average 1 patient per hour uses the Urgent Treatment Centre between 12 midnight and 8am. We’ve been engaging with local stakeholders and made the decision to change the opening times so they are more in line with the time patients most use the service.
The majority of people attending the centre at night do not need to be seen at an Urgent Treatment Centre, and patients can still access advice from other services such as NHS 111.
